Two of Jan's books selected by Washington State Librarian
Two of Jan's books were chosen by Washington State librarian Jan Walsh for the
Spring 2007 Washington Reads program.
The season's theme, "Hidden People," features works about people Walsh says society
tends to put out-of-sight. That includes those incarcerated and their children.
Jan Walker's memoir, Dancing to the Concertina's Tune, provides an educator's inside
view of incarcerated women and men.
Her novel, An Inmate's Daughter, portrays an
accurate account of a child's struggle when a parent is in prison.
